Love this print by Andrew Bannecker. My favourite part is the stary background.

Bannecker has a plethora of other cool works that feature comical characters and explosions of bright colours. See his work at website or stay up to date with his latest works by checking out his blog.

Luisa Kelle

15 02 2012

Luisa Kelle, known on deviantART as “cidaq”, is an illustrator who uses traditional mediums such as ink, watercolour, and pencil crayons.

Her favourite artists are Toulouse-Lautrec, Arthur Rackham, Carl Larsson, among several other artists from around 1900.

You can easily see the influence of the latter artists in her work. Many of her paintings feature a dark colour palette yet the playful nature of the works lighten them up.

Visit Kelle’s gallery on deviantART.

Table Top Made

8 02 2012

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! I don’t typically celebrate Valentine’s but I found these great cards by Tabletop Made and I had to share!

The gift cards aren’t Valentine’s specific and as such are versatile for all occasions. For non-card-giving people, a gift card is great because you can write a short little note on the back and before you know it, you have a card and cute little detail.

From their Etsy shop profile:

We are two girls and a letterpress in Santa Barbara, creating stationery, wedding invitations, postcards, envelopes – pretty much anything paper-related. We hand-press each piece with our table top press, a chunky Kelsey Excelsior with lots of attitude. We love to open up the garage door, turn up some music, and press, press, press.

Simon Fairless

25 01 2012

I found the work of Simon Fairless on Zatista and was intrigued by some of his abstract landscapes and cityscapes. My favourite are the ones I have featured in the gallery below but please check out his website to see his other works.

I love the colours he’s chosen in the ones I’ve featured and the modernity of the cityscapes and paintings in general.

Artist Quote:

My paintings are a representation of feelings and special places that have caught my imagination and stirred strong emotions inside me. Often they’re about the feeling of how beautiful the landscape around us is or an emotional response to people and circumstance.
